This year marks the 28th memorial anniversary of Akagi Shigeru, the iconic protagonist of Ten: Tenhoudouri no Kaiji by manga artist Fukumoto Nobuyuki. Within the story, Akagi passed away on 26 September 1999, and to honour that date, the “Akagi 28th Memorial Fukumoto World POP UP STORE” will be held at two locations across Japan.

- Osaka — Namba Marui: 17 – 25 October
A highlight at both venues will be the installation of a special “Akagi Memorial Grave” (アカギ詣り墓), giving fans the chance to pay their respects to the legendary mahjong player in person.
Featured Merchandise
The event will offer a wide range of new and returning items, including:
- Reproduction art prints with Fukumoto Nobuyuki’s direct signature and numbering — available in two versions: a full-colour illustration of a 19-year-old Akagi, and a scene depicting his legendary first appearance. Pre-orders are limited; items will not be sold on-site.
- Complete signed Akagi manga set — available via the Takeshobo STORE online shop, with orders accepted until 1 September.
- “Akagi Shigeru Toast Set” (赤木しげる献杯セット) — the Akagi beer and glass set that debuted at the 27th memorial, returning for another run.
- “Last Drink…!” Whisky Glass (赤木しげる『最後の酒だ…！』ウイスキーグラス) — a replica of the glass Akagi used for his final farewell drink.
- “Washizu-Samaaaa~! White Suit Sunglasses” (鷲巣様ぁ～っ！白服サングラス) — modelled after the shades worn by Washizu’s white-suited henchmen.
- Additional new items including stickers, acrylic keychains, acrylic blocks, pin badges, T-shirts, and towels.
Bonuses and Campaigns
