The anime film COWBOY BEBOP: Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door is celebrating its 25th anniversary in style, with the unveiling of a newly drawn commemorative visual and the announcement of a nationwide 4K remaster theatrical run in Japan.
New Visual from the Original Creative Team
The anniversary illustration was drawn by Toshihiro Kawamoto, the film’s original character designer and animation director. Background art was handled by art director Atsushi Morikawa, while the main title lettering was designed by Tsueaki Uesugi of Mach 55. Merchandise using the new visual is also currently in development.
4K Remaster Supervised by Director Watanabe
The 4K remaster has been fully supervised by director Shinichiro Watanabe and will open in cinemas across Japan on October 30. Watanabe shared the following message ahead of the screenings:
