Shogakukan’s beloved annual manga festival 「小コレ！2026」(Kokore! 2026) has officially begun, rolling out from 1 September 2026 at participating bookstores across Japan.
This Year’s Novelty: Privacy-Protection Card Sleeves
The event’s signature draw — a free novelty item awarded with every single qualifying manga volume purchased — returns for 2026 in the form of special privacy-protection card sleeves bundled with double-sided character cards, available in 13 designs spanning 50 participating titles, ranging from established hits to highly anticipated up-and-comers.
The sleeves are designed to conceal sensitive information on cards such as student IDs and driver’s licences while also protecting them from scratches. Each set pairs the sleeve with a double-sided card richly illustrated with the world of its respective series. Featured titles include Detective Conan (名探偵コナン) and Doraemon (ドラえもん), among many others.
Digital Manga Campaign “Mansai 2026”
Alongside the in-store fair, Shogakukan is running a major digital manga campaign called 「漫祭2026」(Mansai 2026), starting 4 September 2026. The campaign makes over 470 titles — more than 1,500 volumes in total — available to read free of charge for a limited period.
New free titles drop every Friday across participating digital manga stores, organised into eight themed spotlights:
- Spotlight 1: Shōnen manga from classics to trending hits — 4–17 Sep
- Spotlight 2: Love stories from sweet teen romance to mature relationships — 11–24 Sep
- Spotlight 3: Timeless shōnen and seinen masterworks — 18 Sep–1 Oct
- Spotlight 4: Vertical (tate) format next-big-thing titles — 25 Sep–8 Oct
- Spotlight 5: Gripping seinen manga full of thrills and human drama — 2–15 Oct
- Spotlight 6: Shōjo and josei manga brimming with dreams and adventure — 9–22 Oct
- Spotlight 7: Isekai, villainess romance, and comeback stories — 16–29 Oct
- Spotlight 8: Beloved shōjo and josei classics across generations — 23 Oct–5 Nov
How to Receive the Novelty
