Original anime Grow Up Show ~Himawari no Circus-dan~ has unveiled a promotional video for its new Kirkus Collection arc alongside a special “acting leader” character visual for Tsurumaki Mizuka (鶴巻瑞佳).
Setting and Story
The series is set in Japan during the Showa 30s — the height of the country’s postwar economic boom — when the circus was a central form of popular entertainment. The story begins when Tsurumaki Mizuka, a prodigious circus performer, joins the perpetually cash-strapped Himawari Circus under particular circumstances, setting the plot in motion.
Kirkus Collection Arc Begins with Episode 10
Starting with episode 10, which airs on September 5 at 24:00, the series enters the Kirkus Collection arc. The members of Himawari Circus enter the Kirkus Collection — a grand tournament to crown the top circus troupe — in order to raise money for the medical treatment of their leader, Maria (麻利亜), who has collapsed from overwork. Tsurumaki Mizuka steps up as acting leader in her absence.
