The official website for the Ojisan wa Kawaii Mono ga Osuki. (Older Men Like Cute Things) television anime — based on Tsutomu‘s manga — streamed the series’ second promotional video on Monday, announcing four additional cast members and the artists performing both the opening and ending theme songs.
Theme Songs
The new trailer previews the opening theme “LIKE³”, performed by Yūsei Yagi. The ending theme, “Tōtoi♡Kaiwai” (Precious Neighborhood), will be performed by Kaori Maeda, who also voices the character Rio Shigeoka in the series.

LIDEN FILMS is producing the anime under the direction of Tomoe Makino, whose previous credits include The Moon on a Rainy Night, Kotaro Lives Alone, and Please Put Them On, Takamine-san!. Yū Satō (Kotaro Lives Alone, Sorairo Utility) is handling series composition, with Tomomi Kimura (Kotaro Lives Alone) as character designer. Arisa Okehazama is composing the score, with Magic Capsule overseeing sound production. Additional crew includes Takamasa Nakakuki (art director), Akira Hashigami (color key artist), Tomoya Hosaka (director of photography), Kiyomi Yamada (editor), and Fumihiko Ōtera (sound director).
Broadcast & Streaming
The anime premieres on October 4 on Tokyo MX at 10:00 p.m. JST, followed by BS Asahi later that same evening. It will air on YTV on October 5 and on AT-X on October 8. In Japan, the series will stream exclusively on FOD. Internationally, Crunchyroll will carry the anime under the English title Uncle’s Obsession with Cute Things.
About the Manga
The story follows Mitsutaka Oji, a 40-year-old man who appears handsome, cool, and highly capable at work — but harbors a secret passion for all things small and cute. The comedy manga chronicles his everyday life around this hidden obsession. Tsutomu launched the series on Flex Comics’ Comic Polis platform in July 2017. The 12th compiled volume was released on August 7, and the 13th and final volume is scheduled for October 15. The manga previously inspired a live-action television adaptation in 2020.
