The manga Downer Megami wa Oshi ga Tsuyoi (ダウナー女神は推しが強い) by artist Bushiyama has released its first volume on September 9 through KADOKAWA’s Dragon Comics Age imprint.
Story
The series is set in a world where the practice of offering human sacrifices to the gods still exists. Atoratori, the story’s protagonist, is chosen as a sacrifice to Wewetochitori — a goddess who presides over disease and defilement. Expecting to meet his end the moment he steps into her divine realm, Atoratori is instead greeted by something entirely unexpected: a space that feels more like a “lovey-dovey newlywed home” than any fearsome divine domain.
It turns out that Wewetochitori, as a goddess of illness, wants to experience the one ailment she has never known — the sickness of love. She wastes no time making her feelings known, launching an all-out romantic pursuit of her would-be sacrifice. The result is a heartfelt and comedic love story unlike any other.
