Meitantei PreCure! is the 23rd entry in the long-running PreCure franchise. The story begins when Akechi Anna celebrates her birthday in 2027, only to encounter a fairy named Pochitan and get swept back in time to 1999 by a mysterious light. In that era, Anna meets Kobayashi Mikuru, a girl who dreams of becoming a detective, and a self-proclaimed genius fairy called Jet-senpai. Together they establish the Kyuatto Detective Agency, and Anna resolves to become a true detective — transforming into a PreCure to take on the phantom thief gang Phantom and recover precious belongings stolen from their clients.
