The second part of theatrical anime Saishū Gakushō Hibike! Euphonium (最終楽章 響け！ユーフォニアム) is set to receive a Dolby Cinema release at nine venues across Japan, beginning October 2.
An Upgraded Theatrical Experience
The film has been in cinemas since September 11 and runs 127 minutes, of which approximately 60 minutes consist of newly added scenes — including performance sequences not depicted in the TV series — alongside brushed-up cuts from the original edit. The Dolby Cinema version enhances the film’s colour reproduction, delicate lighting, and immersive sound design, promising an even deeper dive into the world of competitive concert band performance.
Stage Greeting at Marunouchi Piccadilly
To mark the Dolby Cinema launch, a stage greeting event will be held at Marunouchi Piccadilly in Tokyo on October 3. Two sessions are planned: one after the 9:30 a.m. screening and one before the 13:05 screening. Taking the stage will be Tomoyo Kurosawa (voice of Kumiko Oumae), director Taichi Ogawa, sound director Yota Tsuruoka, and composer Akito Matsuda. The guests are expected to discuss the visual and audio craft specific to the Dolby Cinema presentation as well as behind-the-scenes production stories.
Tickets are priced at ¥3,200 (tax included) and went on sale via the theatre’s official website on September 19 at 10:00 p.m. JST on a first-come, first-served basis.
