Fans of the classic anime series Yu Yu Hakusho (幽☆遊☆白書) have something exciting to look forward to: a dedicated POPUP SHOP is set to open at eeo Store’s Ikebukuro flagship location from Saturday, October 31 through Thursday, November 12, 2026.
About Yu Yu Hakusho
Originally a battle manga by Yoshihiro Togashi serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1990 to 1994, Yu Yu Hakusho follows Yusuke Urameshi, a delinquent teenager who dies in an accident and is revived as a “Spirit Detective.” Alongside companions Kazuma Kuwabara, Kurama, and Hiei, he battles malevolent demons in a story that earned a devoted following both in Japan and worldwide.
The TV anime adaptation aired from October 1992 for a total of 112 episodes, produced by Studio Pierrot. The voice cast includes Nozomu Sasaki as Yusuke, Shigeru Chiba as Kuwabara, Megumi Ogata as Kurama, Nobuyuki Hiyama as Hiei, and Sanae Miyuki as Botan. A live-action drama adaptation was also released on Netflix in December 2023.
Japanese Folktale Theme Takes Center Stage
The POPUP SHOP will offer a range of limited-edition merchandise featuring newly drawn illustrations and mini-character art, all centered on the theme of Japanese folktales (日本の童話). The beloved characters are reimagined as iconic figures from classic Japanese stories:
- Yusuke Urameshi — Momotaro (Peach Boy)
- Kazuma Kuwabara — Kintaro
- Kurama — Urashima Taro
- Hiei — Issun-boshi (The Inch-High Samurai)
- Yoko Kurama (妖狐蔵馬) — Hanasaka Jiisan (The Old Man Who Made Flowers Bloom)

Concurrent online sales will be available through Kadostore and eeo Store Online, running from October 31, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. to November 12, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Online-exclusive items will also be offered.
