Crunchyroll announced last week that it will screen the anime film Dive in Wonderland (full Japanese title: Fushigi no Kuni de Alice to -Dive in Wonderland-) in select theaters across the United States for one night only on November 16, as part of its Crunchyroll Anime Nights program. An English-subtitled trailer was also released alongside the announcement.
The film originally opened in Japan in August 2025. The production team has described it as Japan’s first anime film adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s beloved classic children’s novel Alice in Wonderland.
Synopsis
Carroll’s original story follows a girl named Alice who one day chases a talking white rabbit down a rabbit hole and finds herself in a strange Wonderland filled with surreal rules and eccentric inhabitants. The novel is one of the most widely referenced works in pop culture, with its imagery appearing across anime, manga, video games, and countless other media. It previously inspired a television anime adaptation by Nippon Animation and Apollo Film that aired from 1983 to 1984.
