The manga adaptation Ijiwaruna Ane to Yobareta Reijou, Jitsu wa Totemo Sugureta Mahoutsukai deshita. @COMIC (The Lady Called the Wicked Stepsister Is Actually a Brilliant Mage) launched its first volume today, October 1, through TO Books. The series is drawn by Kirii and is based on the original light novel by Mitsuko.
Story
The protagonist, Linette, finds her life turned upside down after her mother’s death. When a stepsister moves into the family home and spreads malicious lies, Linette is branded a “wicked older sister,” shunned by her own family, and forced to live in isolation. To make matters worse, even her trusted fiancé is stolen away by the stepsister, and Linette is ultimately driven out of her home entirely.
Adrift and alone, she finds herself looking back on her happiest memories — her school days spent studying magic. Her fortunes change when Prince Allen, the third imperial prince and a former classmate, suddenly appears before her and proposes marriage out of the blue.
With Allen’s support, Linette regains the freedom to practice magic and even receives a recommendation to join the Imperial Knights — a lifelong dream she had never dared hope for. The series follows this tenacious, never-say-die noblewoman as her hard work finally pays off, in a Cinderella-style magical fantasy.
