The official English YouTube channel for Suikoden: The Anime — the animated adaptation of Konami’s classic RPG Suikoden II — announced on Saturday that the series will be available to watch for free on YouTube with English subtitles. Streaming begins October 6, with new episodes dropping every Tuesday.
The stream is available across North America, Latin America, the Caribbean, Ireland, select regions in Africa and the Middle East, as well as New Zealand and Australia. Full regional availability has been listed on the anime’s official X/Twitter account. Ani-One Asia has separately licensed the series for its own distribution.
Story
Konami describes the premise of Suikoden II as follows: the hero and his close friend Jowy are members of the Unicorn Youth Brigade, which took part in a prolonged border conflict between the Highland Kingdom and the City-States of Jowstown. A peace agreement was signed between the two sides, bringing relief to all who had grown weary of the fighting — yet beneath the fragile calm, the embers of a new war continue to smolder.

The Suikoden Franchise
Konami originally released Suikoden on PlayStation in 1995, followed by Suikoden II in 1998. The franchise spans five mainline entries and five spinoff titles. Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars launched in March 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
Konami is also developing the new mobile and PC title Gensō Suikoden: Star Leap, which launched on iOS and Android in Japan on August 7 and is also planned for Steam. The developers confirmed on launch day that the game will support English, French, German, Korean, and Chinese (both Simplified and Traditional).
