Premium Bandai, Bandai’s official online store, has opened pre-orders for 30MP Ayanami Rei (School Uniform Ver.), a new entry in the 30 MINUTES PREFERENCE (30MP) customizable character model kit line. The kit is priced at ¥4,620 (tax included) and is scheduled to ship in January 2027.
About the Evangelion Franchise
The Evangelion franchise began with the landmark TV anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion in 1995. In 2007, director, writer, and general supervisor Hideaki Anno relaunched the property as the Rebuild of Evangelion theatrical film series, comprising 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, and 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo. The saga concluded in 2021 with Shin Evangelion Theatrical Version, which became a massive box-office hit, earning a final gross of ¥10.28 billion and drawing 6.73 million admissions.
What’s New in the School Uniform Version
The kit recreates Ayanami Rei from the Rebuild of Evangelion series in her familiar school uniform. Compared to the previously released Plug Suit version, this release adds two new facial expression parts as well as replacement parts for recreating a seated pose inspired by scenes from the films.
Highlight: The Iconic Miso Soup Scene
A standout feature for fans is the inclusion of dedicated parts to recreate the memorable scene in which Ayanami Rei drinks miso soup made by Ikari Shinji at the Japan Marine Ecosystem Preservation Research Institute — one of the most beloved moments in the series.
