About the Series
Tanmoshi is based on a light novel by Nigo Ju, which won the top prize at the 15th MF Bunko J Light Novel Newcomer Award. The first anime season aired from July to September 2021. The story follows Kimizuka Kimihiko, a boy with an uncanny knack for getting dragged into trouble, who spent his days as the assistant to the brilliant detective girl Siesta as they battled the “Enemies of the World.” After losing Siesta, Kimizuka tries to live a normal student life — until a new client pulls him back into action.
In Season 2, Kimizuka and his companions finally uncover the true circumstances of the great detective’s death. Along the way, they learn of a mistake even the flawless Siesta once made, and come to understand what it truly means to carry on her will.
Episode 1 Synopsis — “To Meet You Once More”
On their way to visit Siesta’s grave, Kimizuka Kimihiko, Natsunagi Nagisa, Saikawa Yui, and Charlotte Arisaka Anderson are abducted by unknown assailants.
Held captive, the group is shown a video recording left by Siesta — one that documents the truth behind her own death. As they watch in stunned silence, Natsunagi notices something crucial hidden within the footage.
Then, before Kimizuka and the others, Siesta — who should be dead — appears before them, dressed in a maid outfit.
