The upcoming fall anime 『紫禁・御猫房～紫禁城猫警備室～』 (Shikkin Gobyobo: Shikinjo Neko Keibishitsu) has released the synopsis and advance scene cuts for its first episode, “冒険の始まり” (The Beginning of the Adventure). The series premieres on Saturday, October 10, 2026, with Episodes 1 through 4 airing back-to-back in a non-stop broadcast.
About the Series
A Japanese-dubbed version of a Chinese-produced anime, the series is based on a manga inspired by the real cats that live within the Forbidden City in Beijing, China. Hidden in a corner of the imperial palace is a secret organization known as 「紫禁・御猫房」, staffed by six cats who combine wisdom and courage to protect the nation’s cultural treasures.
Their mission takes them into the 「物華世界」(Bukka World) — a realm of memories dwelling within cultural artifacts — where they must battle the villainous Black Owl (ブラックオウル), who seeks to destroy those memories. The cats’ colorful personalities lead to both squabbles and teamwork as they fight to preserve a legend unfolding beyond human sight.
Episode 1 Synopsis: “The Beginning of the Adventure”
The 「紫禁・御猫房」 is a covert organization guarding the Forbidden City’s national treasures. Soubi (ソウビ) and the team dive into the Bukka World of the 「闘彩三秋杯」, a Ming-dynasty wine cup, to protect its 「物華」(Bukka) — the memory enshrined within the artifact — from their arch-nemesis Black Owl. The question is: can they stop Black Owl from destroying both the Bukka and the national treasure itself?
