WWWave Corporation announced on Friday that its Deregula anime label is producing a television anime adaptation of Rui Takatō‘s manga Booty Royale: Never Go Down Without a Fight! (Japanese title: Hagure Idol Jigokuhen). The series is set to premiere in January 2027. Takatō drew a special illustration to mark the announcement.

Story

Eighteen-year-old karate expert Misora Haebaru heads to Tokyo chasing her dream of pop stardom, only to be deceived by unscrupulous handlers into the adult entertainment industry. Her sole path to freedom is surviving a martial arts tournament against one hundred lustful male opponents — lose, and she pays the ultimate erotic price.

Manga Background

The manga launched in Nihonbungeisha’s Bessatsu Manga Goraku magazine in February 2014. After the magazine ceased publication in December 2014, the series transferred to Manga Goraku Special in March 2015. Nihonbungeisha released the 19th compiled volume on April 28. Seven Seas Entertainment holds the Western license under its adult Ghost Ship imprint, and published the eighth omnibus volume (covering original volumes 17–18) on July 14. A live-action film adaptation opened in Japan in September 2020.

The manga entered its climax in July 2021, but in 2022 Takatō announced his retirement from manga, citing personal circumstances at home that made it difficult to continually draw content involving “boobs and sex.” The series went on hiatus as a result. Takatō ultimately returned to the industry and resumed the manga in March 2024.
