The official website for the second anime season of A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special — based on Wookjakga’s Korean webtoon (known in Japan as Kikansha no Mahō wa Tokubetsu Desu) — has released a new promotional video, the main key visual, and confirmed an October 7 premiere date. The promo previews the opening theme song “Sorrow” by rock band FLOW.
Broadcast and Streaming Schedule
The new season will launch in Fuji TV’s +Ultra programming block on October 7, airing on Wednesdays at 24:45 (effectively Thursdays at 12:45 a.m.). It will also air on Kansai TV on October 8, and on Tōkai TV and AT-X on October 10.
In Japan, the series will begin streaming on October 7 at 25:15 JST via d Anime Store, d Anime Store Nico Nico Branch, d Anime Store for Prime Video, d Anime Store for LINE Manga, U-NEXT, and Anime Hōdai. Additional Japanese streaming services will carry the show from October 11. Crunchyroll will stream the season for international audiences.
Story
When the Shadow World overtakes civilization and wipes out most of humanity, a party of six heroes fights desperately — and fails. But magician Desir Herman is granted a second chance, waking up to find himself thirteen years in the past. Now he must reassemble his companions and prevent the greatest catastrophe in human history before it’s too late.
