The official website for the A Tale of the Secret Saint (Tensei Shita Daiseijo wa, Seijo de Aru Koto wo Hitakakusu) television anime — based on the light novel series by writer Touya and illustrator chibi — has confirmed the show’s premiere date and revealed additional cast members through the newly released main promotional video.
Premiere & Broadcast Details
The anime will debut on October 3 at 10:00 p.m. on Tokyo MX and BS11, with Sun TV airing it at 10:30 p.m. the same night. AT-X will begin broadcasting on October 5.
On the streaming side, ABEMA and Amazon Prime Video will simulcast the first two episodes on October 3 at 10:00 p.m., and will continue to release each subsequent episode one week ahead of its Japanese television broadcast.

Theme Songs
The opening theme, “Flare of Soul,” is performed by Kaya. Hiroaki Suzuki of SUPA LOVE composed, arranged, and wrote the lyrics. The ending theme, “Stellar,” is performed by Utahime Dream All Stars, with lyrics by Kyōichi Miyazaki of KEYTONE and RUCCA, composition by Miyazaki, and arrangement by Hiroto Kikuchi of KEYTONE.
Story
Fia has always dreamed of becoming a knight. Born into a family of knights, she is the least talented among them — yet she trains relentlessly and refuses to give up. When the day arrives for her to slay a small demon and prove herself, she comes face to face with a dragon instead. A near-fatal injury causes her life to flash before her eyes, and she suddenly recalls a previous existence: she was once a mighty Saint who defeated the Demon King, a life that ended in suffering because of who she was. Now that the magic of her former life has been reawakened, she may become a far greater knight than she ever imagined — if she can survive long enough to find out.
Background
Touya began serializing the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in January 2019. Earth Star Entertainment started publishing the print light novel edition in June 2019 with illustrations by chibi. The series ranked second in both the Tankōbon and Novel categories of Takarajimasha’s Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! guidebook in its 2024 edition (November 2023) and again in its 2025 edition (November 2024). Mahito Aobe launched a manga adaptation in Comic Earth Star in November 2019.
Earth Star Entertainment also publishes the prequel series A Tale of the Secret Saint ZERO, which launched in July 2022, with a manga adaptation by Shiina that began on the Comic Earth Star website in October 2023. The overall book franchise has surpassed 3.5 million copies in circulation. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing both the main light novel series and its manga adaptation in English.
