One of the world’s largest anime events, AnimeJapan 2027, is set to make its Osaka debut at Intex Osaka in March 2027 — the first time in the event’s history that it will be held outside of Tokyo. The AnimeJapan Executive Committee has officially opened exhibitor applications for both Public Day and Business Day.
A New Stage: From Tokyo to Osaka
AnimeJapan first launched in 2014, and the 2027 edition will mark its 14th installment. The event regularly draws more than 150,000 attendees from over 100 countries and regions, living up to its tagline: “Everything about anime is here.”
At AnimeJapan 2026, over 210 companies exhibited, showcasing approximately 300 titles across their booths, while more than 300 performers and voice actors took to the event’s stages.
The organizers cited Osaka’s long history as an international trade hub and its role as a key host city for Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai — which drew visitors from around the globe — as the driving reasons behind the venue change. Both AnimeJapan 2027 and AnimeJapan 2028 are scheduled to be held in Osaka.

Exhibitor Applications Open Now — Deadline November 2
Applications for exhibitor spots at both Public Day and Business Day opened on July 15, 2026 and will close on November 2, 2026. Eligible applicants include companies and organizations whose activities contribute to anime culture broadly or to the development of Japanese industry.
