A special collaboration between the anime Baki-Dou (刃牙道) and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force’s Northeastern Army (陸上自衛隊 東北方面隊) has been officially announced. Two limited-edition camouflage T-shirts will go on pre-order via the online store EDITH ONLINE starting September 27, 2026 at 10:00 AM, with the pre-order window closing on October 18, 2026 at 11:59 PM.
About the Baki Series
Created by Keisuke Itagaki, the Baki manga franchise launched in 1991, centering on the fierce rivalry between protagonist Hanma Baki and his father, the monstrous Hanma Yujiro. The series has grown across multiple story arcs: Baki (Part 2, 1999), Hanma Baki (Part 3, 2006), Baki-Dou (Part 4, 2014), Baki-Dou (Part 5, 2018), and the currently serialized Baki Rahen, running in Weekly Shōnen Champion since 2023.
Anime Baki-Dou: The Legend of Miyamoto Musashi
The Baki-Dou anime resurrects legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi into the modern era for a battle to determine the greatest fighter of all time. Both cours are currently streaming exclusively worldwide on Netflix, with the second cour also set to begin airing on Japanese terrestrial television from October 4, 2026.
The Camouflage T-Shirts
The collaboration produces two uniquely designed camouflage tees:
- Camouflage T-Shirt: Hanma Baki — the camouflage pattern incorporates imagery of Baki’s battle scars that cover his entire body.
- Camouflage T-Shirt: Hanma Yujiro — the pattern is inspired by Yujiro’s iconic “demon face (鬼の貌)”.
Both shirts are made from quick-dry polyester dry-mesh fabric and are available in sizes M, L, and LL. Each is priced at ¥5,500 (tax included). Shipping is expected in mid-December.
66th Anniversary Event at Camp Sendai
Coinciding with the pre-order launch on September 27, the JGSDF Camp Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture will host the “66th Anniversary Ceremony of the Northeastern Army”, open to the public from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Event highlights include:
- A photo spot featuring a life-size Baki-Dou panel with newly drawn artwork
- Free distribution of exclusive collaboration stickers
- An original dog-tag-style acrylic keychain certificate for participants in special programs
This rare crossover between the world of Baki-Dou and the Japanese military is one fans won’t want to miss.
