The TV anime Black Clover Season 2 has been officially announced for broadcast on TV Tokyo and affiliated networks beginning October 2026.
A Global Phenomenon with Over 24.5 Million Copies Sold
Based on the manga by Yuki Tabata, Black Clover ran in Weekly Shonen Jump and Jump GIGA (Shueisha) from February 2015 to May 2026, amassing a worldwide cumulative print run of over 24.5 million copies. The first TV anime aired from 2017 to 2021 and went on to rank No. 1 in viewership across 87 countries and regions. The 2023 film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King further cemented the franchise’s global reach, debuting at No. 2 on Netflix’s Weekly Global TOP 10.
Director Ayataka Tanemura Returns
Ayataka Tanemura, who helmed both the first TV anime series and the theatrical film, will return as director for Season 2. A special illustration message from Tanemura has also been released to mark the announcement.
Panel Event at Anime Expo 2026
A Black Clover panel event has also been confirmed for Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles, California, running July 2–5, 2026 (local time). Voice actor Gakuto Kajiwara (Asta) and director Tanemura will take the stage to share exclusive talk and the latest updates on the new season.
Season 1 Recap Video Now on YouTube
Ahead of the Season 2 premiere, a special ~10-minute recap video covering the first season has been made publicly available on YouTube. The video had previously screened exclusively at the “Black Clover Exhibition” held in Tokyo and Osaka between March and May of this year.
