The official website for the Chainsmoker Cat (Yanineko) television anime — based on the manga by Nyan Nyan Factory, serialized in Kodansha’s Young Magazine — announced that Rina Honnizumi is joining the cast as Imoko, Yani Neko’s younger sister and a model high school student, a stark contrast to her chainsmoking, slovenly sibling.
Story
Set in a world where humans, catgirls, and similar species coexist, Chainsmoker Cat is a comedy following Yani, a catgirl with a seriously bad smoking habit. Her apartment reeks of ash and is littered with cigarette butts — and plenty of other trash. Every time she tries to quit, she caves to the cravings almost instantly. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga in English.

Theme Songs
Rock band Wasureranneyo performs the opening theme “Nanmonee,” while Necry Talkie performs the ending theme “Kemuri to Blue” (Smoke and Blue).
Premiere
The anime premieres on July 2 at 24:30 (effectively July 3 at 12:30 a.m.) on Tokyo MX and BS11. AT-X will begin broadcasting the series on July 25.
The manga’s 12th compiled volume was released on May 20, and Seven Seas will publish the third English-language volume on June 16.
