Cosmetics accessories maker Shobido has unveiled a new lineup of Chiikawa (ちいかわ) merchandise, including an embroidered Boston bag in four character variants and three limited-edition hair items. The products are now on sale at variety stores, discount stores, and drug stores across Japan, as well as through Shobido’s official online store.

About Chiikawa

Chiikawa is a manga created by illustrator Nagano, which debuted on X (formerly Twitter) in 2020. The series follows endearing characters — Chiikawa, Hachiware, Usagi, and others — through daily adventures that are equal parts charming, bittersweet, and surprisingly tough. The franchise has captivated fans of all ages, earning the Japan Character Award Grand Prix and a place in its Hall of Fame.

The anime adaptation, which began airing in 2022, has surpassed 400 million views on YouTube, drawing global attention. Most recently, the franchise’s first theatrical film, Chiikawa the Movie: Secret of the Mermaid Island — adapting the beloved “Siren Arc” — opened in cinemas on July 24.
