Mangaka Kusano Raigen‘s brand-new series Chimi no Hanayome — Haha wo Koroshita Otoko ni Totsugu Hanashi (血魅ノ花嫁――母を殺した男に嫁ぐ話) launched on the MagComi platform on June 23. The author describes it as a “wafu katsuai fantasy” — a Japanese-style fantasy steeped in burning desire and bitter revenge.
A World Where Monsters Walk Among Men
The story is set in an imperial capital where creatures known as Chimi (血魅) live hidden among the human population, sustaining themselves by drinking the fresh blood of humans. Families dedicated to hunting and exterminating these monsters have existed for generations.
A Girl Driven by Vengeance
The protagonist, a young woman named Asuko, was born into one such monster-hunting lineage. She harbors one consuming desire: to kill the Chimi responsible for her mother’s death. However, at a party she attends one day, she becomes entangled in a mysterious incident involving the Chimi — an encounter that sets her on an unexpected path toward marrying the very vampire-like creature who murdered her mother.
