โลโก้ COMISMA และ Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank ผู้ร่วมจัดตั้งกองทุนผลิต動畫

COMISMA and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank have announced plans to jointly establish and operate an anime production fund. The initiative aims to strengthen financial backing for creators while opening up “new investment opportunities to investors who have previously had little access to the anime production business.”

About COMISMA

COMISMA is the parent company of manga app GANMA! and anime studio Qzil.la. The fund is designed to combine COMISMA and Qzil.la’s expertise in acquiring popular IPs and producing anime with the bank’s established investor network. The goal is to give companies that have long wanted to enter the anime production space — but struggled to find a way in — a viable path to do so.

Supply Struggling to Meet Demand

COMISMA noted that production capacity has failed to keep pace with surging demand, with many major and established studios already booked solid years into the future. The new fund is intended to help ease this bottleneck by channeling private-sector capital into the production pipeline.

A Growing Global Industry

The announcement comes alongside a recently declared Japanese government goal to nearly triple the anime industry’s overseas market in under a decade, targeting 6 trillion yen (approximately US$37 billion) by 2033. Putting that ambition in context, the Association of Japanese Animations (AJA) reported that the overseas anime market stood at 2.54 trillion yen (approximately US$16.1 billion) in 2025 — underscoring both the scale of growth already achieved and the distance still to go.
