The original TV anime DARK MACHINE THE ANIMATION has been officially confirmed for an October 2026 broadcast. Alongside the announcement, a second promotional video and new cast information have been released.
Second PV and BUCK∞TICK Opening Theme
The new PV features machine-battle sequences from the in-universe e-sports game “Dark Machine,” which protagonist Kairi and his teammates compete in. It has also been confirmed that the opening theme will be 「存在理由 改」(Sonzai Riyuu Kai), a track written exclusively for the series by rock band BUCK∞TICK. A portion of the song can be heard in the PV.
BUCK∞TICK guitarist and composer Imai Hisashi commented on the collaboration:
“I am honoured to have been able to contribute a song to this work. I hope the noise, rhythm, and words of ‘存在理由 改’ can add even more colour to the world of DARK MACHINE ♪”
Rival Team Cast Announced
The voice actors portraying members of the rival teams facing Kairi’s squad CARBUNCLE have been revealed:
- Team GREAT CLUSTER: Nyudo voiced by Watanuki Ryunosuke; Hachiman voiced by Mukosaka Jun
- Team Esmeralda: Bianca voiced by Suzuki Minori; Weis voiced by Yasuda Rikuya
About the Series
DARK MACHINE THE ANIMATION is a brand-new original anime born from the cross-media project DARK MACHINE, which spans both an e-sports game and animation. The story follows Kairi as he is drawn into the world of the game “Dark Machine” and gradually awakens his latent talent through fierce competition. Taniguchi Goro serves as Creative Producer.
