It has been officially announced that Fate/kaleid liner プリズマ☆イリヤ (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya) will receive a concluding TV anime adaptation titled Prisma☆Illya FINALE, scheduled to broadcast in 2027.
From Manga to Film — and Back to TV
The series is a spin-off of Fate/stay night starring the fan-favourite character Illyasviel von Einzbern. It began serialisation in CompAce magazine in September 2007 and received its first TV anime adaptation in 2013. In August 2021, the theatrical film Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya: Licht — The Nameless Girl opened in cinemas, with a sequel announced shortly after. That sequel is now confirmed as FINALE, and will be presented as a TV series rather than another film.

Synopsis
After their fierce battle against the Ainsworth family, Illya and her friends finally uncover the truth behind the “nameless girl” — Pandora. Julian seeks to open the Pithos (Pandora’s Box) to grant her the mercy of death, while Erica, wounded by an eternity of suffering, desires only an end. Illya fights to uphold her ideal that everyone can be saved, and seemingly severs the chain of fate binding them all.
But Darius, his concept-replacement now complete, takes over Julian’s body and continues to reach for the Ainsworth family’s long-held wish: the salvation of humanity. The Pithos is opened, and the calamities spilling forth threaten to swallow the world itself.

To sever the causality of a dying world, Illya, Miyu, and Chloe stand against Darius in one final confrontation. The last battle of the magical girls is about to begin.
Teaser Visual & Poster Giveaway
To mark the announcement, character designer Kazuya Hirata drew a brand-new second teaser visual, depicting Illya and Miyu holding their staves and gazing forward, with Chloe smiling gently beside them.

“It’s been a long time, everyone — a really long time. But I haven’t just been sitting around waiting! It’s a TV series! There was talk of doing it as a film, but I requested a TV series so we could see it through to the very end, and that request was graciously accepted. (Thank you!) As the title says, this is the finale. We’ve been given the runtime we need to do it justice, so I’m working hard to deliver every bit of what makes this series special. There are also parts of the original manga I want to expand upon, and I’m doing so with the supervision and cooperation of Hiroyama-sensei. Please look forward to it.”
