Japanese eyewear brand JINS has announced a collaboration with the TV anime 攻殻機動隊 THE GHOST IN THE SHELL, based on the original manga by Shirow Masamune. The special collection goes on sale on July 16.
JINS’s First Electronic Dimming Sunglasses — 1,000 Units Only
The centerpiece of the collaboration is a pair of electronic dimming sunglasses — a first for JINS — produced in a strict worldwide limited run of 1,000 units. Using LCD photochromic film technology, the lenses automatically adjust their tint in response to ambient light levels, delivering a near-future aesthetic straight out of the series. The frames can also be fine-tuned for fit to suit different face shapes and use cases, ensuring both immersive style and everyday comfort.
The design draws inspiration from the high-tech goggles and gadgets worn by the anime’s characters, resulting in a sharp, cyberpunk silhouette that feels authentically futuristic.
Two Styles, Four Colorways
Alongside the dimming sunglasses, the lineup also includes prescription eyeglass frames, spanning two styles across four colorways in total. All frames are constructed from a combination of aluminum and stainless steel, giving them an inorganic, mechanical texture with a distinctly sharp presence.

Both items come packaged with a hard case, a soft pouch, a glasses cord, and an original lens cloth featuring the anime’s key visual.

The anime is scheduled to air during the Summer 2026 season. The voice cast includes Maaya Sakamoto, Kazuhiro Yamaji, Hiroki Yasumoto, Yuichi Nakamura, Kosuke Goto, Toru Nara, Marie Oi, and Tomoko Kaneda.
