An official collaboration jewelry collection inspired by TV anime Ghost in the Shell: THE GHOST IN THE SHELL (攻殻機動隊 THE GHOST IN THE SHELL) has gone on sale, featuring designs based on three iconic characters: Motoko Kusanagi, Batou, and Togusa. Pre-orders opened on October 27, 2026 via FanFun MARKET.
A Franchise That Changed the World
The Ghost in the Shell series began with Shirow Masamune‘s original manga, serialized in Young Magazine Zoukan Kaizokuban (Kodansha) in 1989. It went on to captivate audiences worldwide, most notably through director Mamoru Oshii‘s landmark 1995 film. In July 2026, a new TV anime adaptation produced by Science SARU began broadcasting and streaming, and in October of the same year, production of yet another new animation based on Shirow Masamune’s original manga was announced.
Designs Rooted in Each Character’s Identity
The collection consists of silver rings and necklaces for each of the three characters, with motifs drawn directly from their defining traits:
- Motoko Kusanagi — The ring features her connection jack and the distinctive pattern on her back.
- Batou — The ring is inspired by his signature cybernetic eyes (義眼).
- Togusa — The ring incorporates his beloved sidearm.
Every ring bears the English inscription of “Section 9” (公安9課) on its side, with the character’s name and a Fuchikoma silhouette engraved on the inner band. The necklaces carry a “near-future” aesthetic, with the series logo and each character’s image-color stone on the front, and the character’s name engraved on the reverse.
