Pre-orders opened today for Haikyuu!! Osechi 2027, a premium Japanese New Year’s feast set inspired by the hit anime series Haikyuu!!. Last year’s edition was so popular that an additional production run was required, and this second edition returns with an even more elaborate lineup.
About Haikyuu!!
Haikyuu!! is a manga by Haruichi Furudate, serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump, following high school boys who pour their youth into volleyball. The TV anime began airing in 2014, and the theatrical film Haikyuu!! The Dumpster Battle, released on February 16, 2024, surpassed ¥20 billion in worldwide box-office revenue. Looking ahead to 2027, the film Haikyuu!! VS The Little Giant — depicting the clash between Karasuno and Fukurodani — and the special anime Haikyuu!! Bakemono-tachi no Yukutokoro — covering the battle between Fukurodani Academy and Mujinazaka — are both confirmed.
A Three-Tier Box Themed Around the Spring High Tournament
The osechi set is presented in a three-tier lacquer box (三段重), with each tier themed around a different school matchup from the Spring High tournament:
- First tier (一の重) — Karasuno and Fukurodani theme; features grilled squid in a pine-cone cut inspired by Hoshiumi’s hairstyle.
- Second tier (二の重) — Karasuno and Nekoma theme; includes a special roast beef with an original band printed with Hinata and Kozume’s designs.
- Third tier (三の重) — Karasuno and Inarizaki theme; contains a nerikiri (sweet bean paste) confection shaped like the “Hinagarasu” (baby crow) motif.

The set is priced at ¥26,950 (tax included). Pre-orders run from August 4, 2026 to November 30, 2026, though orders will close early once the quantity limit is reached. The set will be delivered on December 30, 2026 frozen, with a best-before date of January 31, 2027 (frozen; consume within 24 hours of refrigerator thawing). Produced by Yamafuku Co., Ltd.
