The Harvey Awards, which recognize outstanding achievement in comics and sequential art, unveiled their nominees for this year’s ceremony on Tuesday. The awards are unique in that both nominations and voting are conducted entirely by comics industry professionals.

Best Adaptation from Comic Book/Graphic Novel
Five anime and Asian animated titles are among the nominees in the Best Adaptation category:
- Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, based on the Reze Arc of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga
- Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle – Akaza Sairai, the first film in the Infinity Castle trilogy
- My Hero Academia — Final Season
- One Piece Season 2 (live-action)
- Your Letter, a Korean animated film
They face competition from The Boys Season 5, Invincible Season 4, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, Peacemaker Season 2, and Spider-Noir.
Best Manga: A Look Back
The Harvey Awards introduced the Best Manga category in 2018. Past winners include Kabi Nagata’s My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness (2018), Kōhei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia (2019), and Kamome Shirahama’s Witch Hat Atelier (2020). Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man then dominated the category for three consecutive years (2021–2023), before Ryōko Kui’s Delicious in Dungeon claimed the prize in 2024. Last year, Witch Hat Atelier took the award again, beating out The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn’t a Guy at All, The Summer Hikaru Died, Tokyo These Days, and Wind Breaker.
Prior to the dedicated Best Manga category, manga competed in the “Best American Edition of Foreign Material” category. The last manga to win that award was Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan in 2014. That category has since been retired.
Winners Announced at New York Comic Con
The Harvey Awards will reveal this year’s winners at New York Comic Con on October 9.
