The first-ever large-scale art exhibition dedicated to Houshin Engi (封神演義) — the manga by Ryu Fujisaki serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from June 11, 1996 to October 24, 2000 — has been announced for spring 2027. Titled Houshin Engi Ten (封神演義展), the exhibition commemorates the series’ 30th anniversary since its debut.
A Historic First Exhibition
The venue will showcase a large number of original handwritten manuscripts from the serialization era, allowing visitors to appreciate Fujisaki’s meticulous linework and iconic scenes up close. Special exhibition installations and photo spots created exclusively for the event will let fans immerse themselves in the story’s world and characters. A wide range of merchandise will also be available for purchase.
To mark the announcement, Fujisaki drew a new commemorative illustration featuring a self-portrait with a mystery character hidden in the background. Fans can reveal the hidden character on the exhibition’s official website.

30th Anniversary Campaigns
The official exhibition website has launched several anniversary initiatives:
- Senkai Taisen Kyo (仙界大選挙) — A popularity poll covering 145 characters, running from September 25 to October 25. Voters receive an original smartphone wallpaper, and X icons will be distributed based on total vote counts. A poster card set featuring top-ranked characters is also planned for the exhibition.
- Houshin Engi Secret Encyclopedia (封神演義㊙諸氏百科) — Character and Paopei introduction pages originally published in Weekly Shonen Jump and the collected volumes will be posted sequentially on the official website.
- Mainichi Houshin (毎日封神) — The official X account will share Houshin Engi content and information every day.
All 204 Chapters Free to Read
To celebrate the exhibition, Shonen Jump+, Zebrack, and Yanjan+ will release all 204 chapters of Houshin Engi for free, rolling out in batches starting September 26, 2026 at midnight. The full schedule is as follows:
