About the Series
Based on the novel of the same name by author Shaluoshuangshu (裟椤双樹), Hyakuyoufu is an animated series that originally streamed on China’s bilibili platform, where the franchise has accumulated over 660 million total views. Set in ancient China, the story follows Tao Yao (桃夭), a doctor who specializes in treating demons and spirits, as she travels with her companions in search of the lost Hyakuyoufu (Book of a Hundred Demons). Along the way, she heals the wounds of the creatures she meets, uncovering heartfelt wishes that transcend the boundary between humans and demons.
In Japan, the Japanese-dubbed version has been broadcast on Fuji TV × bilibili’s anime block “B8station”, with Season 1 premiering in January 2024 and Season 2 following in October of the same year.

Episode 1 Synopsis: “Nian Hua (Part 1)”
Tao Yao and her companions arrive at the capital city, Keishi (京師), in their search for the lost Hyakuyoufu. No sooner do they arrive than trouble finds them — a large sum of money that Tao Yao won at a gambling den is stolen right from under her nose.
The thief is caught by a man named Feng Wule (封無楽). But as he turns to leave, Tao Yao catches a glimpse of a demon’s silhouette overlapping with his figure.
With her money recovered, the group settles in for a meal — until a commotion breaks out at the restaurant and Tao Yao is taken hostage…
