Fans of the iconic cyberpunk franchise have something exciting to look forward to: the popular guaranteed-prize lottery Ichiban Kuji will launch a Ghost in the Shell THE GHOST IN THE SHELL themed lineup starting 26 September 2026.

About the Franchise

Originally a sci-fi manga by Shirow Masamune that began serialization in the Young Magazine special edition “Pirate Edition” in 1989, Ghost in the Shell has been adapted numerous times — most notably the landmark 1995 animated film, the 2002 TV anime STAND ALONE COMPLEX (26 episodes), the 2013 film series ARISE, and the 2017 Hollywood live-action film starring Scarlett Johansson.

The latest iteration, 攻殻機動隊 THE GHOST IN THE SHELL, began airing on 7 July 2026. Author Enjo Toru serves as series composer and scriptwriter, with animation produced by Science SARU. The main cast includes Sakamoto Maaya as Kusanagi Motoko, Yamaji Kazuhiro as Aramaki Daisuke, Yasumoto Hiroki as Batou, and Nakamura Yuichi as Togusa.

Each draw costs ¥850 (tax included). The lottery goes on sale from 26 September 2026 at Ministop, Daily Yamazaki, bookstores, hobby shops, select drugstores, and the official Ichiban Kuji shop. Ichiban Kuji ONLINE sales begin at 13:00 JST on 28 September 2026.
