Fans of Initial D and Formula 1 have a collaboration to look forward to: Initial D Legend3 -夢現- (Mugen) has partnered with Atlassian Williams F1 Team to launch a capsule collection called “BEFORE DAWN”, spanning 14 items from everyday apparel to a high-end mechanical wristwatch.
About Initial D and the New Theatrical Series
Initial D is the beloved manga by Shuichi Shigeno, serialized in Weekly Young Magazine from 1995 to 2013. A new theatrical trilogy — 新劇場版「頭文字D」 — began in 2014, retelling the story from the very beginning. Legend3 -夢現- is the trilogy’s final chapter, depicting the intense rivalry between protagonist Takumi Fujiwara and his formidable opponent Ryosuke Takahashi.
What Is “BEFORE DAWN”?
The collection is born from a collaboration between Initial D Legend3 -夢現- and Sector Zero, Atlassian Williams F1 Team’s pop-culture program. Its central theme is “the time before the result is born” — set in the pre-dawn darkness of Gunma.
The design language evokes a garage light flickering on, a key turning in the ignition, and the headlights of an AE86 cutting through a mountain road — connecting the world of touge racing with Williams F1’s meticulous culture of inspection, adjustment, and precision.
The 14-Item Lineup
The collection covers a wide range of products:
- Jacket, hoodie, and T-shirt
- Pin badge, keychain, and bottle
- Automatic skeleton wristwatch
Prices range from ¥3,200 to ¥111,900. Items are available through the official Sector Zero member platform starting September 21, 2026. A Sector Zero membership registration is required to purchase.
Hero Product: PROJECT D AUTOMATIC WATCH
The centerpiece of the collection is the PROJECT D AUTOMATIC WATCH (¥111,900), designed by UNDONE. This automatic skeleton watch features a dark gun-finish dial with a three-dimensional touge course layout — an unmistakable nod to the world of Initial D. A semi-transparent blue film layered over the dial adds depth and dimension, while the exposed movement beneath the hands visually unites the concepts of time and driving on a single dial face.
Most items will begin shipping in late November, while the PROJECT D AUTOMATIC WATCH is scheduled for late February 2027.
Singapore GP Fan Zone Appearance
Beyond the online launch, the BEFORE DAWN collection will also appear at the Atlassian Williams F1 Team Fan Zone at Marina Square in Singapore, coinciding with Singapore GP week from October 5. It will be a rare opportunity for fans to handle the items in person and experience the quality and design up close.
