โมเดลรถ Initial D RX-7 FC3S และ FD3S สเกล 1/64 จากความร่วมมือระหว่าง Mazda และ Initial D

Mazda has announced an official collaboration with Initial D (頭文字D), the iconic racing manga and anime by Shuichi Shigeno, releasing a special 1/64 scale model car set to celebrate the upcoming 60th anniversary of the rotary engine.

Why Initial D?

May 2027 will mark 60 years since Mazda launched the Cosmo Sport, the world’s first mass-production rotary-engined car. Looking to introduce the history and appeal of the rotary engine to a new generation of fans, Mazda turned to Initial D — a series in which the Takahashi brothers drive two rotary-powered RX-7s, and where elder brother Ryosuke Takahashi passionately extols the virtues of the rotary engine in memorable dialogue.

The Model Car Set

The product, officially titled 「頭文字D RX-7(FC&FD)モデルカー2台セット 1/64」, includes two 1/64 scale die-cast models:

  • FC3S Savanna RX-7 in white — driven by Ryosuke Takahashi
  • FD3S Anfini RX-7 in yellow — driven by Keisuke Takahashi

The two cars are positioned at offset angles to evoke the dynamic energy of touge (mountain pass) racing. The interior of the packaging features artwork of a mountain road bathed in the colors of dawn, designed to serve as a display backdrop. The back of the box carries Shigeno’s signature alongside Ryosuke’s in-series monologue about his devotion to the rotary engine.

Price and Availability

The set is priced at ¥11,000 (tax included) and goes on sale via the MAZDA ONLINE SHOP on October 3 at 9:00 a.m. JST. It will also be available at the MAZDA FAN FESTA 2026 at FUJI SPEEDWAY event held on October 3–4 at Fuji Speedway in Shizuoka Prefecture. From October 8, the set will be stocked at Mazda dealerships nationwide across Japan.
