The ongoing full-series rerun of Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) broadcast Episode 15, “Natagumo Mountain (那田蜘蛛山),” on July 19, 2026. Ahead of the episode, fans flooded social media with anticipation: “I’m so excited to revisit the Natagumo Mountain arc after so long” and “The Natagumo arc starts this week — I’m definitely going to cry.”

About the Series

Based on the manga by Gotouge Koyoharu, Kimetsu no Yaiba follows Kamado Tanjiro, a boy whose family is slaughtered by demons. He joins the Demon Slayer Corps (鬼殺隊) to find a way to turn his demonized sister Nezuko back into a human. The manga’s 23-volume Jump Comics run has surpassed 220 million copies in circulation worldwide. Animated by ufotable, the series launched in April 2019 with Kamado Tanjiro Risshi-hen. The theatrical trilogy Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen-jo-hen opened its first chapter, “Akaza Sairan,” in Japanese cinemas on July 18, 2025.

⚠️ Spoilers for Episode 15 follow.

Inosuke Goes “Howa-Howa”

In Episode 15, Tanjiro and his companions rest at a Wisteria-crested household until their injuries heal. Agatsuma Zenitsu immediately becomes smitten with Nezuko in her box, chasing her around calling “Nezuko-chan~!” and pestering Tanjiro for friendship. Meanwhile, a hungry Hashibira Inosuke is offered a change of clothes and a promise of tempura by the kind elderly woman of the house — and his heart goes inexplicably warm and fuzzy (“howa-howa”). Fans were charmed: “Inosuke being bewildered by this strange new feeling is adorable” and “Zenitsu is already loud on a Sunday morning.”

The Trio Assembles — Off to Natagumo Mountain

Declared fully healed by the doctor, the group receives new orders via a kasugai crow: “Three of you — head to Natagumo Mountain to the north-northeast!” Before they depart, the grandmother performs the kiribi fire-striking ritual for good luck. Inosuke, unfamiliar with the custom, explodes in anger; Zenitsu immediately yells back explaining what it is. Fans laughed and noted: “The trio is finally complete!” and “The comedy really ramps up once these three are together.”

“Don’t Leave Me Alone!” — Zenitsu’s Pinpoint Tsukkomi

As Natagumo Mountain looms, Zenitsu stops the group with a serious face, pleading that he senses something ominous. When Tanjiro catches a scent and sprints into the mountain — Inosuke right behind him — Zenitsu reluctantly follows, wailing “Don’t leave me alone!” They find a fallen Demon Slayer Corps member who is then dragged into the forest before their eyes. Inosuke then declares “I’m hungry!” instead of the idiom “my arms are itching (for a fight).” Zenitsu corrects him immediately: “The phrase is ‘my arms are itching,’ isn’t it?!” Fans loved it: “That comeback is the best!” and “Even while terrified, Zenitsu’s tsukkomi is perfectly on point.”

Murata Debuts — and the Pillars Giyuu & Shinobu Appear

Deep in the mountain, Tanjiro introduces himself to a Corps member: “Rank Mizunoto (癸), Kamado Tanjiro, here to assist.” The man despairs: “Why isn’t it a Pillar?! It doesn’t matter how many Mizunoto show up!” — and with that, fan-favorite Murata makes his first appearance. The internet erupted: “Murata-san is here!” “My beloved Murata-san!” “He’s in the same graduating class as Giyuu, you know!” Elsewhere, two Pillars are dispatched to Natagumo Mountain: Tomioka Giyuu and Kocho Shinobu. Fans cheered: “The sense of security when Giyuu and Shinobu show up is unreal!” and “Shinobu’s very first appearance and she’s already lying through her teeth — hilarious.”

Zenitsu Runs for Nezuko — and Beast Breathing, Seventh Form: Spatial Awareness

Left alone and sulking, Zenitsu is encouraged by his sparrow Chuntaro and suddenly realizes Tanjiro brought Nezuko into the mountain — and sprints in immediately. Fans laughed: “The moment Nezuko is involved, Zenitsu’s power level skyrockets.” Inside the mountain, Tanjiro and Inosuke discover that Corps members are being controlled by demon threads. With Tanjiro’s nose impaired by the mountain’s strange smell, Inosuke deploys “Beast Breathing, Seventh Form: Spatial Awareness (獣の呼吸 漆ノ型 空間識覚)” to locate the controlling demon. Fans reacted: “First time seeing Beast Breathing!” and “This trio has enemy-detection abilities covered from every angle — incredibly useful.” One fan also quipped: “How exactly did he self-teach spatial awareness?”

Cast Comment: Miyata Koki (Voice of Murata)

The official Kimetsu no Yaiba account releases a weekly cast comment to celebrate the rerun. For Episode 15, Miyata Koki — the voice of Murata — shared his thoughts: “Murata might seem unreliable, but the fact that he doesn’t run away and faces the situation bravely even in extreme circumstances is genuinely cool… That said, there will be quite a bit of skin on display after this (laughs).” Fans agreed wholeheartedly: “In a sense, Murata is the most beloved man in the Demon Slayer Corps” and “No matter what anyone says, Murata is a main character to me!”

Looking Ahead

The full-series rerun began on April 5, 2025 — just one day before the seventh anniversary of the original April 6, 2019 premiere. Fans noted that “the comedy really picks up once the three of them are together” and “so many new characters are about to appear!” The preview for next week teases the reveal of Chuntaro’s real name — stay tuned!
