The TV anime Kimi ga Shinu made Koi wo Shitai has released the synopsis and web preview for its first episode, titled “Kiss,” along with two episode posters featuring scene cuts from the show. The series is based on the manga by Aono Nachi, serialized in Comic Yuri Hime (Ichijinsha).
Episode 1 Synopsis
The story is set in an institution that takes in orphaned children, trains them, and deploys them as magical weapons of war. Tōtsuki Shina, a girl living in this facility, is casually informed by her teacher that her roommate has been killed in battle — a death treated as nothing more than an ordinary daily occurrence. Unable to hide her bewilderment at how lightly the loss is brushed aside, Shina’s world shifts further one night when she unexpectedly encounters a blood-soaked girl named Kagari Mimi.

The anime premieres on July 7, 2026, with the following schedule:

For streaming, dAnime Store, U-NEXT, and Anime Hōdai will begin simulcasting ahead of the TV broadcast on July 7 at 24:00. Other streaming platforms will follow on July 10, 2026 at 24:00.
ReoNa’s Opening Theme “Amore”
Details have also been revealed for the opening theme single “Amore (アモーレ)” performed by ReoNa. The single will be released in three editions: a First-Press Limited Edition, a Standard Edition, and a Limited-Time Edition. The Limited-Time Edition features cover artwork drawn exclusively by Aono Nachi and includes a Blu-ray containing a special music video titled “‘Amore’ Music Video – ReoNa × TV Anime Kimi ga Shinu made Koi wo Shitai Rough Sketch –”, composed of rough animation cuts from the series.
