An official X (formerly Twitter) account launched on Monday to announce that Azusa Banjo‘s manga I Think I Turned My Childhood Friend Into a Girl (Japanese title: Koisuru (Otome) no Tsukurikata) is receiving a television anime adaptation. A commemorative illustration drawn by Banjo was also shared alongside the announcement.
Story
Kenshirou Midou is a popular high school student with a lifelong passion for cosmetics — a secret he has kept from almost everyone except his childhood friend, Hiura Mihate. When Kenshirou finally gets the chance to practice applying makeup on Hiura, the results are stunning: the plain, undersized boy is transformed into a pretty, petite girl. Kenshirou finds the experience liberating, but so does Hiura, who takes a liking to both the makeup and the feminine clothing that follows — eventually deciding to wear the girls’ school uniform to class.
Kenshirou is left wondering whether he has unlocked something that was always inside Hiura, or whether he is simply seeing a side of his old friend he never noticed before. And the feelings now stirring between them raise an even bigger question: is this attraction something entirely new?
Manga Details
Banjo launched the manga on Ichijinsha‘s Comic Pool website in February 2020. Ichijinsha is set to release the manga’s 12th compiled volume on June 25. In English, Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the series both digitally and in print, with the 10th volume having released on March 24.
Further details regarding the anime adaptation — including staff, cast, and broadcast schedule — have not yet been announced.
