Koisuru (Otome) no Tsukurikata (恋する(おとめ)の作り方), the web manga by Banjo Azusa, has been officially announced for a TV anime adaptation. The announcement came alongside a newly drawn illustration and a comment from the author.

About the Story

Described as an “emo-kyun love comedy,” the series follows Mido, a high school boy with a deep passion for cosmetics, who can no longer hold back his desire to put his makeup skills to use on someone. He turns to his childhood friend Hiura as his first subject, setting off a heartfelt and emotionally charged romance between the two.

Manga Milestones

The series has previously ranked highly in the WEB Manga Sousenkyo pixivComic 10th Anniversary Special Edition poll and the Manga We Want to See Adapted into Anime 2024 ranking. It is currently serialized on comic POOL, a web manga platform run jointly by Ichijinsha and pixiv. The latest Volume 12 is set to go on sale on June 25, and the series has surpassed a cumulative 600,000 copies in print and digital editions combined.

Author Comment

“Being able to get an anime adaptation for a work built around the theme of ‘a male heroine who is head over heels for the protagonist’ — something I have always wanted to draw — is the greatest happiness I could ask for. Hiura moving and speaking on screen is sure to be even more adorable!! I sincerely hope that Hiura and the others will be loved by even more people than ever before.”

Further details on the anime, including the broadcast window and cast information, will be announced at a later date.
