The live-action film adaptation of Koukousei Kazoku (高校生家族), based on the manga by Nakama Ryō published by Shueisha under Jump Comics, has revealed its main poster visual and full theatrical trailer.

Poster and Trailer

The poster centers on Ichirō Kaya — the family’s father — mid-shout, surrounded by the rest of the Kaya household. The trailer opens with Ichirō’s line: “Starting today, our family becomes a high-school family.” It then shows Ichirō donning the same school uniform as his eldest son Kōtarō, joined by mother Shizuka, younger sister Haruka, and even the family cat Gomesu — all enrolling in the same high school, much to Kōtarō’s despair. The preview also captures the family reveling in school-life adventures as well as the hardships they face along the way.

Theme Song: Yuzu — “Kore mo Seishun da”

The theme song has been confirmed as 「これも青春だ」(Kore mo Seishun da), a brand-new track written and recorded by Yuzu exclusively for the film. There is a fitting personal connection: lead actor Katori Shingo, who plays Ichirō, and both Yuzu members — Kitagawa Yūjin and Iwasawa Kōji — are the same age and all hail from Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture.

Yuzu commented on the song:

“We wrote this song while overlapping our own images with that of Ichirō Kaya, played by our same-age, same-hometown friend Katori Shingo. We wanted to say that no matter when, no matter where you start — if you just shift your perspective a little, you can always begin your youth. We crammed that somewhat forceful feeling into the song (laughs). Now that we’re celebrating 30 years since our debut, this is the ultimate ‘aoharu song’ unlike anything we’ve done before — a party song that we hope will feel both nostalgic and fresh for listeners of every generation. We can’t wait to deliver it to everyone in theaters. This, too, is youth!”

The two members also shared personal high-school memories. Kitagawa Yūjin recalled the squeak of basketball shoes on an empty gym floor at dawn, drool-stained notebooks from dozing off in class, a katsu sandwich he never managed to buy at the cafeteria, love-life chats on the Keikyu train home, and John Lennon drifting through his earphones at night. Iwasawa Kōji remembered his days in the rugby club — training hard in the mud every day — and how, once club activities ended, he naturally picked up a guitar.
