Warner Bros. Japan announced on Wednesday that Japanese rock band Kroi is performing “Spin,” the opening theme song for the STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime. The announcement came alongside the release of the anime’s clean opening sequence.
Warner Bros. Japan also unveiled the single’s jacket art, which features a newly drawn anime illustration created exclusively for the release.
New Characters and Cast
The company had previously introduced three new characters: Mountain Tim (voiced by Tomoaki Maeno), Funny Valentine (voiced by Tomokazu Sugita), and Hot Pants (voiced by Yōko Hikasa).

The anime is produced at david production. Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi, who co-directed JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, are directing, while Toshiyuki Kato — director of Stone Ocean — serves as series director. Yasuko Kobayashi returns to oversee the series scripts, and Daisuke Tsumagari (Golden Wind animation director) is handling character design. Yūgo Kanno is once again composing the music, and Yoshikazu Iwanami returns as sound director. Sub-character designers include Yui Kinoshita, Grand Guerilla, Minoru Murao, and Chii.

The anime’s “first stage” premiered exclusively on Netflix worldwide on March 19 with a single 47-minute episode. The series adapts Hirohiko Araki‘s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run manga, which launched in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 2004 before moving to Ultra Jump in 2005. The manga concluded in 2011 with 24 volumes (volumes 81–104 of the overall JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series).
Story Synopsis
Riders from around the world gather in the Wild West for the race of the century. Johnny Joestar, a former jockey paralyzed from the waist down, comes to spectate and momentarily regains the ability to walk while watching a duel fought by Gyro Zeppeli. Desperate to learn more about this mysterious power, Johnny joins the race alongside Gyro and embarks on the most epic and bizarre race to ever cross the American frontier.
Viz Media has licensed the manga in English and released the first volume both digitally and in print in May 2025.
David production’s anime adaptation of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure franchise has covered Parts 1 through 6, with Stone Ocean fully released on Netflix throughout 2022. The latest manga entry, The JOJOLands (Part 9), began serialization in Ultra Jump in February 2023.
