Earth Star Novel announced on Thursday that Yasuaki Mikami‘s light novel series Looks like a Job for a Maid! The Tales of a Dismissed Supermaid (Maid Nara Tōzen Desu. Nureginu o Kiserareta Bannō Maid-san wa Tabi ni Deru Koto ni Shimashita) is receiving a television anime adaptation.

Story

For Nina, life as a maid in the household of Count Mirkwood is everything she has ever known — until a false accusation costs her the job and leaves her with nowhere to go. With no work and no safety net, Nina sets off on her very first solo journey into the wider world.

What the people she encounters don’t know is that Nina is no ordinary maid — she’s a supermaid whose extraordinary skills prove indispensable at every turn. Along the way she meets Emily, a mage who cannot cast spells; Astrid, a gifted inventor whose experiments never quite succeed; and Tien, an orphan who struggles to keep food down. Back at the Mirkwood estate, things begin to fall apart without her. None of them have realised it yet, but Nina may be exactly what they’ve all been looking for — because no problem is too great for this supermaid to solve.

Publication History

Mikami originally serialised the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2021. Earth Star Entertainment began publishing the series as a light novel with illustrations by Kinta in July 2022. The ninth volume is scheduled to ship on October 15.

Manga Adaptation

Ayahito Kumagai launched a manga adaptation of the series on Earth Star Entertainment’s Comic Earth Star website in October 2022. The first compiled volume shipped in April 2023, and the seventh volume arrived on May 13. J-Novel Club is publishing the manga in English.
