Original anime Maiden Blood has been announced for a 2027 broadcast. The announcement came alongside a full staff and cast reveal, a teaser visual, and a teaser PV. The project is an original work created by Kishi Seiji, Uezu Makoto, and Pony Canyon.
A World Ravaged by Demons
Maiden Blood is a dark fantasy action series set in a world laid to waste by demons. Humanity’s last hope lies with a special group of fighters known as Kessen Ningen (血戦人間 — “Blood-Battle Humans”), who possess the power to stand against the demonic threat. Animation production is handled by Polygon Pictures.

Uezu Makoto (Series Composition): “It was around 2020, when the pandemic chaos was just beginning, that I told a producer I wanted to make an all-action anime with no restrictions — something truly dark and brutal. Years later, this is the result. I love Western games full of muscles and blood splatter, and that’s the flavor I aimed for. We’re currently clashing with broadcasters over some of the content, but it will air. It’s dark, dangerous, and heavy — but also powerful, exhilarating, and beautiful. We made it for everyone who’s been wanting exactly this.”

Anzai Yukari (as Epica): “From the moment I read the audition materials, I knew this was exactly the kind of work I’d been waiting for. When I found out I’d been cast as Epica, I literally jumped for joy. She looks cool and composed on the surface, but there’s a whole other side to her charm outside of battle.
