The 30th-anniversary special of the long-running anime series Detective Conan, titled Detective Conan: Case No. 30 Murder (名探偵コナン 30号殺人事件), is now available to stream exclusively on Netflix. The episode aired on Nippon TV’s Friday Road Show on September 25 before landing on the platform the same day.
First Two-Hour Special in a Decade
The episode marks the franchise’s first two-hour TV special in ten years. The story centers on a national crisis triggered by the counterfeiting of Japan’s new banknotes, forcing Conan, Kogoro Mori, Heiji Hattori, and a coalition of detectives, police officers, public security agents, and FBI operatives to join forces. Netflix also released a commemorative commercial to mark the exclusive streaming launch.
30th-Anniversary Event at Shibuya Hikarie
As part of its anniversary project celebrating 30 years of Detective Conan alongside fans, Netflix is bringing a special pop-up display to the Event Square on the first floor of Shibuya Hikarie in Tokyo. Running for four days only from September 26, the exhibit will feature life-size character panels of Conan, Ran Mori, Kogoro Mori, Ai Haibara, Kaito Kid, Toru Amuro, and Heiji Hattori dressed in special anniversary outfits, as well as a giant anniversary cake monument.
Visitors can tap each character panel with their smartphone to be directed to that character’s dedicated Special Selection page on Netflix — a curated playlist of related episodes. All 30 Special Selection collections are available exclusively on the platform. A voice message from Conan will also be played at the venue.
