The TV anime adaptation of MURCIÉLAGO (ムルシエラゴ), based on the manga by Yoshimura Kana serialized in Young Gangan (Square Enix), has revealed its first teaser visual, teaser PV, cast lineup, and character design sheets.
Story and Cast
MURCIÉLAGO follows Komori Kuroko, a former death-row inmate who has been granted state permission to hunt down dangerous criminals as a government-sanctioned executioner. Together with her young partner Tozakura Hinako, she confronts the darkest corners of society in a high-octane buddy-action story.

The teaser visual depicts Kuroko armed and ready alongside her lover Chiyo, with Hinako racing in on a bicycle. The teaser PV lets viewers hear all three characters’ voices for the first time, showcasing Kuroko and company cutting through villains and tearing across the story’s setting, the town of Ryuryamachi.

Ueda Hitomi (Komori Kuroko)
Honestly, my own sense of what’s “too much” has completely broken down at this point (laughs). Kuroko is outrageously lewd, but when she gets serious, she really gets serious — that contrast kept throwing me off during recording. Switching between long dramatic lines and gag moments was a rollercoaster every single time. The serious parts are genuinely intense, so I’d recommend going in with an open mind — and brace yourself for some bloody scenes. Score for this work? 100 out of 100, obviously. Actually, we’d say 10 billion points (laughs).
Suzuki Minori (Tozakura Hinako)
Fair warning: Kuroko will suddenly be holding something very sharp out of nowhere, so please watch carefully (laughs). I went into the audition ready to give it my all, but once I started recording I realized the key was to just have fun with it — and from there I let myself go free. I re-read the source manga every week to make sure Hinako felt like she’d jumped straight off the page. The screaming scenes took everything I had; my hands were literally trembling afterwards. Score? Ten million points — no, infinite.
Uesaka Sumire (Yanagioka Chiyo)
I’m thrilled to be playing Yanagioka Chiyo! The episodes packed with brutal, poison-laced violence are so stimulating they made my head spin just reading them. Seeing that translated into animation will be like a relentless stream of the strongest medicine imaginable. Please look forward to Chiyo’s charming, yakuza-maiden antics!
