Fans of the anime Natsume’s Book of Friends (夏目友人帳) have a new reason to visit their nearest convenience store. iid’s Entame Print service is rolling out its second wave of merchandise for the series, available from July 18, 2026. This follows the first wave launched on June 24, which featured scene bromides from the episodes “Minasoko no Tsubame” and “Itsuka Kuru Hi.”

About Natsume’s Book of Friends

Natsume’s Book of Friends is a TV anime based on the manga by Yuki Midorikawa, serialized in Hakusensha’s Monthly LaLa magazine with a cumulative circulation exceeding 18 million copies. The story follows Takashi Natsume, a boy who has been able to see spirits (ayakashi) since childhood. After inheriting his late grandmother Reiko’s “Book of Friends” — a tome containing the names of spirits she once bound — Natsume sets out to return those names, accompanied by the self-proclaimed bodyguard Nyanko-sensei. The series is a delicate, beautiful tale of the bond between humans and the supernatural.

The anime first aired on TV Tokyo in 2008 and celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2023. Its seventh season, Natsume Yuujinchou Shichi (夏目友人帳 漆), began broadcasting in October 2024.

About Entame Print

Entame Print is a service that allows customers to purchase and print bromides, stickers, and other content spanning anime, games, and voice actors, using multi-copy machines installed at convenience stores across Japan. Participating stores include FamilyMart, Lawson, and Ministop (select locations).

• Operate the multi-copy machine at a FamilyMart, Lawson, or Ministop branch and select “All Contents” from the menu.
• Choose “Entame Print” from the service list, agree to the terms, and enter the content code for your desired item.
• Confirm the details and print.

SOUND THEATRE × Natsume’s Book of Friends ～Ondeki no Shou: Natsugasumi～

On the same day — July 18, 2026 — a musical reading performance titled “SOUND THEATRE × 夏目友人帳 ～音劇の章 夏霞 (Natsugasumi)～” will be held at Tokyo International Forum Hall A. Two performances are scheduled: a matinee (doors 13:00 / start 14:00) and an evening show (doors 17:30 / start 18:30).

Programme

• Act 1 — Audio Drama Version of “Minasoko no Tsubame”: A prolonged drought has dried up a dam, revealing the ruins of a submerged village. Natsume visits with Kitamoto and Nishimura, only to be possessed by a spirit — an ayakashi in the form of a masked girl who desperately wishes to meet someone. Moved by her single-minded longing, Natsume resolves to find that person for her.
• Act 2 — Audio Drama Version of “Itsuka Kuru Hi”: Natsume picks up a dropped letter and meets a man named Aoi — who is, in fact, an ayakashi. Aoi confides in Natsume and Nyanko-sensei about a girl named Kaori from his childhood, who could also see spirits. What was written in the last letter Kaori ever sent him?

Both performances share the same programme. An after-talk session (approx. 15 minutes) featuring cast and staff will follow the evening performance, exclusively for evening ticket holders.
