The long-running anime series Ojaru-Maru (おじゃる丸) has launched its first-ever character popularity vote, open from September 5 to 30. Fans can cast their ballots via a dedicated online form, and are also invited to write reasons, support messages, and even merchandise ideas for their favourite characters.
How the Vote Works
Staff have hand-picked 123 characters from across the anime’s history as candidates. The top 5 vote-getters will be turned into official merchandise. Results will be announced on October 5 — designated “Ojaru-Maru Day” — on the series’ official X account and a dedicated feature page.
Hikawa Kiyoshi Casts the First Vote
Hikawa Kiyoshi, who performs the ending theme for Ojaru-Maru Season 29, was given the honour of casting the ceremonial first vote. In a message video posted to the official X account, he said:
“I want to give my vote to Sally with her stylish blonde hair. But I’m also drawn to Minoru — the characters in Ojaru-Maru really are wonderfully diverse. I love Tayama and Tereko too, and the ‘seventeen’ versions of Akane 17 and Aobee 17 look so cool and slender. I’d also love to see merchandise of the grown-up Ojaru-Maru 17. I can’t wait to see the results!”
