Megahouse has opened pre-orders for the Variable Action Heroes ONE PIECE “Whitebeard” Edward Newgate Ver.1.5 on Bandai’s official shopping site, Premium Bandai. The figure is priced at ¥22,000 (tax included) and is scheduled to ship in May 2027.
About ONE PIECE
Created by Eiichiro Oda and serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 1997, ONE PIECE has surpassed 500 million copies in worldwide circulation. The story follows Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates as they sail the seas in pursuit of the legendary treasure “One Piece,” left behind by the Pirate King Gol D. Roger.
The TV anime launched in 1999 and celebrated its 25th anniversary in October 2024. Following the conclusion of the Egghead Arc at the end of December 2025, the series has moved into the Elbaf Arc, which began airing in April 2026 and features members of the “God’s Knights” including Shamrock Saint and Gunshiku.
Ver.1.5 — A Grand Return for the “Father of the Sea”
This new release revisits the original Variable Action Heroes ONE PIECE “Whitebeard” Edward Newgate figure that launched in late April 2017, bringing the legendary pirate back in an imposing form standing approximately 240 mm tall.
The headline feature is a set of oversized effect parts designed to recreate the activation of the Gura Gura no Mi (Tremor-Tremor Fruit), allowing fans to pose Whitebeard mid-battle across a variety of dramatic scenes. The figure also includes a real-fabric mantle that can be attached or removed, along with two interchangeable face parts for added display versatility.
