The final results of the 2nd ONE PIECE Character World Popularity Vote “WORLD TOP 100 (WT100)” were announced on August 23 during the second day of ONE PIECE DAY’26, held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.
Luffy Reigns Supreme for the Second Time
The WT100 returned for the first time in five years, having previously been held in 2021 to commemorate the manga’s 1,000th chapter milestone. Fans worldwide cast their votes between March and June. On the event’s first day (August 22), rankings from 100th to 31st were revealed, and the top 30 were unveiled on day two as the climax of the stage event.
Monkey D. Luffy claimed first place, successfully defending his title from the inaugural poll. Roronoa Zoro finished second and Sanji third, keeping the Straw Hat Pirates’ two “wings” firmly at the top of the rankings. Oda Draws Special “WT100 Costume” Illustrations
During the event, a special illustration of Luffy drawn by series creator Eiichiro Oda in a “WT100 Special Costume” was unveiled. The artwork will appear on the cover of Weekly Shonen Jump Issue No. 39, on sale August 24.
Oda is also set to illustrate all 30 top-ranked characters in their WT100 Special Costumes. These will be compiled into three consecutive connecting poster supplements included with Weekly Shonen Jump issues scheduled for December.
Fan Q&A with Oda — Submissions Open Until September 30
A special feature titled “Tell Us, Oda! New Info on the TOP 30 Characters!!” will have Oda answering fan-submitted questions about the top 30 characters. Questions can be submitted via email or postcard until September 30 at 11:59 p.m. The Q&A will be published in Weekly Shonen Jump and ONE PIECE magazine Vol.22.
Reward Projects for Top Characters Starting in 2027
Characters who ranked highly will receive special treatment beginning in 2027, including:
- New cards in the ONE PIECE Card Game
- Appearances in eyecatch segments of the ONE PIECE TV anime airing in 2027
- Merchandise and game tie-ins
